The Terriers got back to winning ways in Durham with goals from Charlotte Stuart and Leah Embley in the FAWNL Division One
Town opened the game as the stronger of the two sides, forcing opportunities straight from kick off but lacking the cutting edge to be genuinely dangerous.
Some good link up play around the Huddersfield area in the 13th minute saw Durham’s Nicholson teed up on the edge of the box, but she failed to keep her effort on target.
Charlotte Stuart’s emphatic finish gave Town the lead in the 20th minute, volleying the ball home off Ria Montgomery’s cross into the box.
A scuffle in the box meant the hosts almost equalised in the 27th minute, but just a minute later they were able to find the net through Daisy Clarke.
The speed of the game increased considerably in the following minutes, with both sides clearly desperate to take advantage of the change in tempo.
The game slowed down again until the 45th minute, when Kate Mallin found herself at the far post on the end of Leah Embley’s cross, but she couldn’t direct her shot on target.

It took until the 56th minute before the first big chance of the second half came around and, though it came in Town’s favour, Scarlett McMahon couldn’t find the net.
Only a minute later, Stuart found herself bearing down on goal one-on-one with the keeper, before dragging her shot wide of the left post.
Huddersfield kept the pressure on the hosts’ goal, Leah Embley this time with a header from a corner, but she was unable to test the Durham keeper.
The missed opportunity didn’t slow Embley down as she put Town back in the lead from the back post after a perfect ball in by Kate Mallin in the 70th minute, her fifth assist of the campaign.
Stuart thought her header had put us 3-1 up in the 76th minute despite a defender’s attempted block on the line, but after some confusion regarding the referee’s decision, it was called offside.
Town were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute after Charlotte Stuart was fouled by the Durham keeper after she was played in behind.
Embley confidently dispatched the spot kick into the bottom left corner, doubling Huddersfield’s lead and her tally for the day, securing her sixth goal contribution of the season.
Durham found a consolation goal in the 90th minute when Collinson got onto the end of Bolton-Woollam’s parried save.
