Town host title chasing Middlesborough
Huddersfield Town Women return to league action this weekend as they welcome Middlesborough to the Stafflex Arena.
Last time the sides met it was Middlesborough who took the three points, coming out 2-0 winners on the day.
The Hosts:
Town are coming off the back of an impressive 9-0 victory against Handsworth in the County Cup and a hard earned 2-1 win away at Barnsley in the league.
Both Molly Firth and Ashley Tiripke will be hoping their performances last time out impressed manager Glen Preston enough to potentially break into the starting XI for this league fixture.
Midfielder Caz Simone was taken off through injury in the Handsworth game, but many will be hoping they will be back for the big game come Sunday.
The Visitors:
The visitors currently sit second in the league, only two points behind league leaders Cheadle Town Stingers.
Boro manager Michael Mullhern will be hoping to get back to winning ways as they hope to apply pressure on Cheadle as the season comes into its final stages.
Middlesborough have gone two games without a win, being held to 1-1 draws by York City and AFC Flyde.
Midfielder Lauren Robson could cause some problems for the Town defence, netting 10 times this season.
Final Conclusions:
If the past two games are anything to go by then Town are proving to be a real threat in this division; with enough games left to even push for promotion.
The brilliant performance against Handsworth will steal the headlines but the resilience and professionalism the side showed against Barnsley really showed their quality.
With momentum and confidence on their side, Town have an opportunity to take the game to Middlesborough and make a statement against a side at the top of the table.
