The game started fairly evenly for the first 25 minutes with both teams creating some half chances.
On the half hour mark Town went ahead. A corner from Kate Mallin was powered home from the head of Layla Proctor 1-0
The referee then decided to make the game more interesting (and himself more important).
In the 35th minute a Feds player was sin binned for dissent.
Just eight minutes later, former Town player Mia Parry was also sin binned.
Now playing again nine, Town tried to press home the numerical advantage but Feds (quite rightly) decided to ‘park the bus’ and see themselves through to half time.
Half time 1-0.
The second half was initially evenly balanced with neither team able to create an opening.
The referee changed all that in the 62nd minute when he awarded a very soft penalty to Liverpool Feds. Former Town player Katie Anderson levelled things up from the spot.
The penalty decision was a blow for Town and Feds started to control much of the game but again, they were unable to create many clear cut chances.
The game ended all square. 1-1
