STOKE CITY 4 – HUDDERSFIELD TOWN WFC 0
Town lost their first game of the season with a disjointed display away at Stoke.
Stoke started brightly and had the better of the open 15 minutes but Town gradually grew into the game.
A good save from Liv Conway in Town’s goal kept Stoke out in the 19th minute but just 5 minutes later a quick breakaway and good finish gave Stoke the lead.
With Town still recovering from going behind the conceded a second soft goal when the ball trickled into the net 2-0.
Towns best chance of the half came in the 39th minute when Yasmin Mason broke down the left and put a low ball into Feiruz Abdullahi but her close range shot was saved and eventually put behind for a corner.

Town played much better in the second half and both Brittany Sanderson and Mason were unlucky not to score.
First Mason was sent clear only for the Stoke keeper to save well then, Sanderson broke clear but her lobbed shot crashed back off the crossbar.
With 15 minutes remaining the game was won for Stoke.
An error in Town’s defence saw a ball over the top which eventually found their striker 12 yards out who rifled a shot into the top corner, 3-0.
Stoke completed their scoring 4 minutes later with another breakaway goal.
A disappointing performance from Town with some poor defending and chances missed.
