Their commanding performances in midfield across 21 appearances saw them pick up the award at Wembley yesterday alongside the other FA Women’s National League award winners.
Caz has picked up the incredible individual award after a thoroughly impressive debut season with Town having only signed from Brighouse Town at the start of the campaign.
Speaking about Fields’ success, manager Glen Preston said: “Caz has played with heart and desire in every game, and this has been rightly recognised. Not only a great player on the pitch, but a wonderful person off it too.”
Caz was delighted with her award; “It’s been a tough season for all of us as a team with lots of up’s and downs. But on a personal level I’m extremely grateful to receive the player of the year award. I’ve always prided myself on my hard work and passion as a player so it feels so rewarding to receive that acknowledgment from the opposition teams. Team success is always the main objective of course but after a difficult year but it was a nice feeling to get recognition like this for a personal achievement.”
